“Then Peter said, ‘silver and gold I do not have but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk” (Acts 3:6).
Have you noticed how many needs there are just surrounding our lives? With the state of our Nation needs have become very prolific and we are left trying to figure out what to do. It is for sure, our faith demands that we do something but how. The challenge for us as believers is to wade past the muck and discern what the true need really is.
Peter shows us how important it is to not get distracted with superficial things. Peter could have given this lame man silver and gold but it would have only enabled this man to continue to live the life he always lived. Each day would be the same until his death. As Christians we have been called to lead people to Jesus for life transformation. Peter was able to discern the true need and led the lame man to Christ and it totally changed his world.
With this said, however, we must understand that we cannot give that which we do not have. This is where the modern church finds itself in the West. We have the songs and the mottos but we don’t have the power. We have a form but we are void of the power. Let me challenge you to pray up, fill up and then avail yourself to God to touch people with His power and in His name.
God is ready….are we?
I love you!
